Carol Wirth is the Co-Founder of Glimsity. Carol is a story producer and interviewer. Her primary goal when out shooting video is to make everyone feel comfortable in front of the lens.

“After more than 15 years in public relations with roots in journalism, I reached a point where I needed to find what I was passionate about in my profession or find a new one. I thought I would come out of the process changing careers. Instead, I found what I truly love about the one I’ve already got: Telling people’s stories. Everyone’s got a story – it’s what makes people (and people make up businesses) who they are, it’s their personality, their difference. I enjoy finding the story, pulling it out, making it relevant and communicating it to the public. In my adapted career, I simply found another way to communicate the stories – through documentary video.”

A Friendly Reminder

It’s that time of year when you walk into the grocery store and kaboom, a rush a red explodes from the seasonal aisle. And no matter how much DVR, Netflix, Prime or Hulu, nothing can stop the creep of Valentine’s Day messages into your day. Even though we have received ample notifications since Super Bowl, some guys (and girls) may still be a little slow to catch on.

We thought we could help. This is your reminder to celebrate your sweetie this Saturday.

We reached out to a couple Glimsity Savannah friends for recommendations.

Checking in with Allyson Harvin, wife, business co-owner, mother, tireless advocate for children with down syndrome, and all-around amazing person. Allyson Harvin’s husband surprised her for their 8th anniversary recently with dinner reservations at Elē.

Allyson, would you recommend Elē for a date night? And what makes it special for you?

Allyson Harvin:
Not only was my sweet husband able to surprise me by making all of the arrangements for an anniversary dinner out, but he picked Elē, one of my favorite restaurants! The minute you walk in, the elegant décor transports you. The staff makes you feel as though they are there just for you and the food…oh, the food! We happily worked our way from appetizers to dessert, each course just as amazing as the last. Ēle was the perfect choice for a romantic dinner and made our celebration truly special.

Savannah Day Spa is known for its serene surroundings and attention to detail. The proprietor Celeste Hobson is a perfectionist, which is what you want in an aesthetician. So if you’ve got a hard-to-please lovey (we all have a little of that in us) you can’t go wrong with any of their facial or massages.

What do you recommend, Celeste?

Celeste Hobson:
Our Hydra-Facials are amazing for anyone. This facial shows immediate results. Your face looks smoother and has a healthy glow. This treatment is soothing, refreshing, and non-irritating. It’s great for this time of year because it improves hydration and reduces fine lines. Something that is new is our Anti-Aging Crystal Facial that uses a collagen crystal mask that tightens the skin and creates firmness in the neck. Facials are important for maintenance, but you should also feel pampered.

Spa Facial
If a massage is more of what you’re looking for, all of our massages are good. It just depends on what the individual body needs. And if you can’t make the decision for someone else, then give a gift certificate. Time is not something everyone has an abundance of these days, but taking time for yourself is important. It’s a great message to send to your loved one to take a little time for themselves.

And come Saturday, if you’re left empty-handed, don’t worry. There are 364 more days in the year to show your loved one you care.
